From a personal point of view, from being an athlete and a learn to swim ambassador, I can say that Scotland punches above its weight on an international scale. Twenty-one per cent of Team GB’s 2024 Paris team trained in Scotland, and five of the eight Team GB medals won in the pool at the 2021 Olympics were won by athletes who were made in Scotland.
