Supported by: Miles Briggs*, Douglas Lumsden*, Annie Wells*, Alexander Stewart*, Russell Findlay*, Edward Mountain*, Sandesh Gulhane*, Colin Beattie*, Jackson Carlaw*, Donald Cameron* *S6M-02083 Claire Baker: Fife’s Buffalo Farm Named UK’s Best Butchers—That the Parliament congratulates the Buffalo Farm in Fife on winning the title of the UK’s Best Butchers at the Great British Food Awards 2021; understands that the farm has Scotland’s largest herd of water buffalo, and was set up in 2005 with the aim of producing high-quality meat to market directly to the public; further understands that the farm provides expert advice, as well as award- winning produce, and has become a highly-valued local retailer; notes that the farm site has animals, including emus, pygmy goats, peacocks and turkeys, as well as a café and shop, using locally-sourced ingredients, which attract visitors from near and far; welcomes that Scottish buffalo mozzarella, made in Fife using milk from the farm’s own buffalo herd, was selected for inclusion by the catering team at COP26, as part of its showcase of the best of Scottish food and drink; understands that the Buffalo Farm won the title of Scotland’s Best Farm Shop at the same awards last year, and has received a number of other titles for its produce, and wishes the farm continuing success.
