Budget gaps in 2024-25 and 2025-26
The Accounts Commission published a report in May 2024 summarising budget decisions made by Scotland's 32 councils, with information gathered by council auditors over the previous months1Accounts Commission. (2024).
These include powers under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to deal with “statutory nuisances” and powers under the Antisocial Behaviour etc. (Scotland) Act 2004 to deal with other antisocial behaviour (information on these powers is normally available on council websites).
The Committee’s findings will be shared with the Scottish Government in advance of its next budget.
