Each RSP produces tri-annual Employment and Skills Plans which then inform Welsh Government funding priorities. The RSPs are funded by Welsh Government but are also closely aligned to the various City Deals and (Regional) Growth Deals which are supported by UK government funding, as well as public and private investment.
If—I stress the word “if”—that activity were to highlight any areas of concern, it would be open to the Scottish Funding Council to take an interest in such matters.
Clearly, such a system will be dependent on securing funding, but that is our ambition. We have a road map that will allow us—incrementally, year on year, through our capital funding—to see the digital shift that is needed.
