Scottish Ministers must consult such persons they consider appropriate before making such a revised code of practice. The Scottish Ministers must re-publish the code of practice as revised unless none of the revisions materially alters the effect of the code. .
Approach and membership NatureScot are taking an iterative, collaborative approach to developing the codes of practice. This process is being managed through two Code Working Groups, with additional input from members of the Moorland Forum.
We have quite a lot of experience of these types of codes in other sectors. We have, for example, the deer code, which does exactly the same thing, the outdoor access code and the muirburn code.
