Instrument overview
The Provision of Early Learning and Childcare (Specified Children) (Scotland) Amendment Order 2019 was laid by the Scottish Government on 27 June 2019.
Some members of the Committee expressed concern at the need for the Committee to consider whether to agree to this instrument as they consider that this places Scotland in a lesser position in relation to civil law than is currently in place prior to Exit Day.

That Committee welcomed the Government emphasis on preventative action as being “integral to the approach to government in Scotland and delivering the outcomes set out in the National Performance Framework.”
We also looked at the information contained in the Staff Experience Report to obtain insights into the views of staff across the NHS in Scotland.

Impact of Bank Closures
The Economy, Jobs and Fair Work Committee launched a short inquiry examining the impact of bank branch closures in Scotland on local businesses, consumers and the Scottish economy to explore what steps can be taken to address the issues identified by the Committee.
