Supported by: Tom Arthur*, David Torrance*, Alexander Stewart*, Sandra White* *S5M-01897 Lewis Macdonald: Sport Aberdeen Launches Programme to Support Women That the Parliament welcomes the launch of a new swimming programme in Aberdeen, — which has been designed to support women who have experienced abuse; understands that the s Fund for Scotland, has been initiative, which has received funding of £2,000 from the Women’ devised by Sport Aberdeen; notes that women can be referred to the scheme by Police Scotland, NHS Grampian and Aberdeen City Council; recognises that the six-week programme, produced in conjunction with the Violence Against Women Partnership Aberdeen, will focus on building trust, improving health and reducing stigma around scarring or bruises obtained from abuse; commends Sport Aberdeen and its partners on developing this innovative programme, and wishes those taking part in the scheme all the best for the future.
