Speaking as the cabinet secretary for culture and the MSP for Edinburgh Central and many cultural venues in the capital, I say to the member for Edinburgh Western that I am absolutely seized of that issue.
I do not think that it is for us to chase this matter, but I would like the MSPs on both cross-party groups to come together at some point and speak to each other in a rational manner.

In the Scottish Parliament, between a quarter and a third of MSPs are members of the Government so, if the Scottish Parliament pursued the same ratio that the Senedd is introducing, we would need to have 175 MSPs.
We have the “Code of Conduct” for members of the Scottish Parliament, which all MSPs sign up to. We have to do so. It requires MSPs to treat other MSPs “with courtesy and respect”, and not just in the chamber.
The committee has considered a complaint from Christian Allard about Alexander Burnett MSP. The complaint is that Alexander Burnett failed to declare his registered interests when submitting parliamentary questions on 4 August 2016.
