Social Housing Standards - Scottish Housing Quality Standard All social landlords have to ensure that the properties they let are wind and watertight and in all other respects reasonably fit for human habitation (Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 Sch 4 para 1). In addition to this basic legislative requirement, social landlords have to ensure that the properties they let meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard and the Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing.
