Introduction
The Patient Safety Commissioner for Scotland Bill (“the Bill”) was introduced in the Parliament by the then Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Humza Yousaf MSP, on 6 October 2022. The Parliament designated the Health, Social Care and Sport Committee as the lead committee for Stage 1 consideration of the Bill.
Official Inward Visits and Outward Delegations
Due to the COVIID-19 pandemic and resulting travel restrictions, MSPs did not undertake any visits to other Parliaments, Assemblies or Bodies.
In total, 21 meetings were held in hybrid form in Edinburgh (with some MSPs or witnesses attending remotely and some in person) and nine meetings were held completely virtually (due to the COVID-19 public health emergency).
