Taking the following approach provided a structure (i) use what you have first, then (ii) buy what you can, followed by (iii) build what you then need.
It is about identifying the protected characteristic groups that you need to get in contact with and have outreach to. We have examples of good work that we have done and examples of positive and proactive work that we have done.
I do an all-colleagues call every week, and I regularly contact colleagues at other times, when we call out such matters and have conversations about how we could do better next time.
The Scottish Government and the Scottish Prison Service should ensure that family contact arrangements - including access to digital visits and support from Family Contact Officers - are delivered consistently and to a high standard across the prison estate.
For example, if several parliamentarians or Scottish Government officials attend the same meeting or conference with several individuals from across the same organisation, all contacts should be able to be shared on a single submission which indicates the nature of each of the contacts rather than submitting separate submissions for each individual contact.
