Overview of the Bill
This Scottish Government Bill was introduced on 27 April 2020 by the Cabinet Secretary for Social Security and Older People (Shirley-Anne Somerville MSP).
Introduction
The Sentencing (Pre-consolidation Amendments) Bill is a UK Government Bill introduced in the House of Lords on 21 January 2020. The Bill is currently nearing Report stage in that House.
The European Commission suggested that if the UK honoured its financial commitments, it should be able to participate in EU funding programmes up to the end of 2020 on the basis it abides by the EU's spending rules.
The Bill added to the changes which affect Scotland that were made by the Coronavirus Act 2020 (“the 2020 Act”). This Act was passed by the UK Parliament on 25 March 2020.
