However, this does not prevent assistance from being given where the need for the assistance also arises from some exceptional event or circumstance and the need is immediate.
Further determinations during a period of entitlement
A person who has been given assistance on an on-going basis (eg. disability assistance) may need the assistance to be changed if, for example, their circumstances change.
However, we also have a database of other organisations that might be in a position to assist them. That clears out many of the complaints that might previously have just been sitting there.
