Supported by: Ash Denham*, Sandra White*, Bill Kidd*, Edward Mountain* R, Joan McAlpine*, Clare Haughey*, Gail Ross*, Gillian Martin* *S5M-09365 Miles Briggs: Transforming Care After Treatment Programme That the — Parliament welcomes the significant progress of the Transforming Care After Treatment (TCAT) programme, which has been working to change how the NHS and social care system supports people with cancer; notes that this is a partnership between Macmillan Cancer Support, the Scottish Government, the NHS, local authorities and third sector partners across the whole of Scotland; welcomes the development of new models of care and support that place the needs of the person with cancer at the centre; believes that, as the number of people living with cancer grows, there is a need to move away from a one-size-fits-all system that is not able to respond to all of their needs; notes that the TCAT programme is working to embed the use of care plans and holistic needs assessments, which is a key part of the Scottish Government Cancer Plan; congratulates the 25 TCAT pilot projects on their early results, and believes that the key learning from the pilots should now be spread across Scotland so that everyone is able to access the support they need during and after treatment and that no one has to face cancer alone.
