You have already heard from my friend the consul general about the work that is on-going and the challenges that we have ahead. When we met in March, Scotland was preparing to welcome displaced people.

The contract was due to run out in March 2022 and we were getting anecdotal evidence that people were going to be looking for other jobs because they had no job security.
Finally, the Scottish Government’s first draft report covers how the section 1 regulation-making power has been used from its commencement on 29 March 2021 to 31 August 2021. The report is laid in draft for a period of 28 days.
We managed to make two investments—one was announced at the time of launch and one was made before the end of what we call the stub period, which was the short financial year from the end of November last year to the end of March this year. Combined with the launch, that was a significant achievement.
