The Private Rented Sector (PRS) stakeholder group, established in March 2023 and the Housing Investment taskforce, established in April 2024 are two forums that are in place to support this engagement.

New standards of fire alarms in all homes in Scotland by February 2022 - 19 August 2021
The mass media awareness raising campaign will cover a range of channels, including TV, radio and digital channels which will be amplified by PR and stakeholder engagement. The activity will set out what the new standard requires and how home owners can get help and advice to make sure their home and families have the right level of protection.

Should Parliament pass the legislation, it is intended that a full review will be undertaken of the support required by local authorities to ensure robust enforcement in the PRS. This will include an assessment of the enforcement provisions and the resource required to adequately support this.
