Salmon Farming SEPA
The extension of our regulatory role to marine fish farm developments anywhere in the Scottish marine area ensures consistency in fish farm regulation, avoids unnecessary duplication of expertise in different regulators, and keeps the regulatory landscape as simple as possible for fish farm developers. To date, there are no marine fish farms authorised to operate in the 3 to 12 nautical mile zone of territorial waters. 5.3 Coordinated consenting progress To help improve the efficiency, effectiveness and transparency of marine fish farm consenting, the Scottish Government established a Consenting Task Group in 2022.
