During his closing evidence on the Bill, the Cabinet Secretary agreed that there is currently an absence of support for witnesses after the court process has concluded.
Part 1 of the Bill seeks to make permanent some of the temporary justice measures in the Coronavirus (Recovery and Reform) (Scotland) Act 2022 (“the 2022 Act”) which were put in place in response to the pandemic.
However, a green recovery offers opportunities to address these inequalities, create and maintain good, green jobs right across Scotland, and empower people and communities to make decisions about their future through community wealth building.
