We understand that, since 2005, there have been 506 applications on behalf of witnesses to give evidence by TV link. Since April 2005, there have been 149 applications to enable witnesses to give evidence via a liveTV link from a remote site.
It is not due to the register being inflated—that is not the issue. It is more that the people who live in the cities do not seem to engage to the same extent as those who live outside the cities.
I also add my voice to those of members who have paid tribute to our first responders and to people who work in our local authorities who put everything on the line to serve the communities that they live and work in. I am particularly mindful of people living in the immediate vicinity of River Street in Brechin, because quite a few of the people who live on that street are seniors, and they have lost their homes and cherished possessions.

A lot of people outside this Government have put a lot of work in over many years to calculate what the real living wage should be, and it is calculated very deliberately according to the basic cost of living.
Does the First Minister support the living wage? Not only do we support the living wage but, of course, we introduced the living wage across the Government-controlled public sector in Scotland.
It is estimated that graduates earn around £100,000 more over the course of their working lives than those who do not go to university, and it is all taxable, so it is axiomatic that graduates will pay more over their entire working lives.
