*S6M-13443 Jamie Halcro Johnston: Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Launches Wildfire Awareness Campaign—That the Parliament welcomes the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service's (SFRS) launch of its national wildfire prevention campaign; recognises what it considers to be the urgency of this initiative, following a period in 2023 when Scotland experienced, on average, more than one wildfire a day from March to June, totalling 133 incidents, with more than a third occurring in the Highlands; acknowledges reports that 48 of these wildfires spread over an area exceeding one hectare each; commends the SFRS for addressing the root cause of these incidents, which, it understands, is often careless behaviour, and encourages all residents and visitors in Scotland to support and adhere to the campaign's guidelines to help prevent future wildfires.
