Scottish ministers are keen to see early resolution on replacing the current outdated employment statute for academic staff which is part of the governance arrangements of the pre 1992 Scottish universities. We are strongly supportive of the discussions which have been on-going for sometime at a national level between the eight pre 1992 universities and the University and College Union and are disappointed that it has not been possible to reach an agreed position on a revised statute.
