NUTS: The Classification of Territorial Units for Statistics (NUTS; French: Nomenclature des unités territoriales statistiques) is a geocode standard for referencing the subdivisions of countries for statistical purposes across the European Union.
Automation does not necessarily mean loss of jobs, of course, because the introduction of automation can often increase production, which results in more jobs.
I think that, if we are to get to a much more automated system that is less reliant on individuals having to talk to too many people at once, we probably need to tighten up the process of referral to other agencies.
