In existing law, section 16AA (4)(c) of the 1981 Act (inserted by the 2024 Act) requires that an application for a section 16AA licence must, amongst other things, "specify the area of land to which the licence is to relate".

The Finance and Public Administration Committee therefore recommends that the Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (Additional Amount: Transactions relating to second homes etc.) (Scotland) Amendment Order 2024 (SSI 2024/367) be approved.
