We currently provide £42 million annually to local authorities through the flood component of the general capital grant. We are committed to providing an extra £150 million to the flood component over the next five years.
We are also working to ensure that we achieve even deeper future reductions in order to meet the catch up requirement for the extra 2.7 megatonnes of emissions from the missed 2019 target.
I thank the member, and I accept her qualification of the point, but the point that I am trying to make is that extra funding will always be required because caring for people at home brings additional costs through extra staff and extra equipment and all that.
