In 2006, a report on drinking and driving in Europe from the Global Alcohol Policy Alliance concluded:"All drivers on European roads with a BAC level greater than 0.5 g/L should have an unconditional license suspension".In 2008, the report "Reducing Drinking and Driving in Europe" by the German Centre for Addiction Issues, which was sponsored by the European Commission, concluded:"A maximum blood alcohol concentration limit of 0.5 g/L should be introduced throughout Europe".I am therefore puzzled that the UK Government seems to believe that no studies have been carried out and no evidence has been produced for the past 10 years.
