I appreciate that the minister wants to ensure flexibility. It is helpful that he has said on the record that he will not set a limit on the time between incidents, so no one should think that there is any such time limit.

All the provisions could be dealt with much better under the flexibility of common law. I commend Jackie Baillie for her continuing support for the Loch Lomond rescue boat and other similar rescue vessels.
