The Child Strategy Statement was published in January 1998 requiring all departments of the Scottish Office to identify and take account of the interests of children when developing policy. The Statement has recently been re-issued in updated form.

To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will encourage and support local authorities to develop services which help elderly, disabled or unemployed people to apply for the full benefits to which they are entitled.
Thereafter the database will be refined and developed on a continuous basis to ensure that accurate, relevant and comprehensive opportunities continue to be available to potential learners across Scotland.
To ask the Scottish Executive which health boards have a register of diabetic patients and what steps it is taking to ensure that all health boards have such a register. All health boards have or are developing a register of patients with diabetes.
