The Government is clearly committed to progressing the issue and increasing entitlement to pre-school education over time. It has reaffirmed its policy on the provision of free pre-school education and confirmed its plans to amend existing legislation to achieve an increase in entitlement to 570 hours in 2010, as part of its commitment to give a 50 per cent increase in entitlement to pre-school education.It is clear that progress is being made and that the Government has taken on the spirit of the petition.
