With regard to the part of Richard Simpson’s question about the Patient Rights (Scotland) Act 2011, I stress, as I did to Mary Scanlon, that there already is statutory protection for NHS workers in the situation that he describes.With regard to the specific action that we have taken, the review of the PIN policy led to a new PIN guideline that was developed nationally in partnership by the Government, employers, the trade unions and professional bodies, and addresses whistleblowing as a standalone policy.
