*S6M-12680 Annie Wells: Glasgow-based Fraunhofer UK Research Wins Funding Competition to Develop New Clinical Tools for Dementia and Neurodegeneration—That the Parliament congratulates Fraunhofer UK Research Limited, based in Glasgow, on receiving £995,563 from Innovate UK as part of a UK-wide competition that has awarded over £6 million in funding to 10 innovative organisations through its Small Business Research Initiative to develop new clinical tools for dementia and neurodegeneration; understands that the funds will empower Fraunhofer UK Research Limited to develop customised tools using state-of-the-art technologies and repurposed innovations, the goal of which is to address what it sees as the pressing need for improved clinical tools capable of identifying suitable patients for clinical trials and tailoring treatments accordingly; further understands that the Innovate UK investment forms an important part of the Dame Barbara Windsor Dementia Mission, a UK Government-led effort committed to realising a new generation of precision dementia therapies and solutions for the UK, and notes that the funding competition sought innovative solutions to address the complexities of dementia, a disease that is known to manifest and progress differently in different patients.
