*S6M-00042 Rachael Hamilton: South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project—That the Parliament congratulates all those involved in the groundbreaking South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project, the new Eyrie: Eagle Information Point located in Philiphaugh Estate, Selkirk; appreciates that this is a pioneering conservation charity initiative dedicated to telling the story of Scotland’s national bird as well as helping increase biodiversity in the Scottish Borders; thanks Philiphaugh Estate for all it has done to facilitate this project along with all its other biodiversity work, for which it is accredited by Wildlife Estates Scotland; notes the creation of a fascinating and engaging visitors hub, which will allow locals and tourists alike to visit and discover more about this species and what they can do to encourage the return of golden eagles to the south of Scotland; understands that, since 2018, four golden eagles have been translocated from the Highlands to the southern regions as part of this initiative, with plans to bring in more eagle chicks in the future, and commends the Fallago Rig Fund, Philiphaugh Estate, South of Scotland Economic Partnership, South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project, RSPB Scotland and the Lothian and Borders Raptor Study Group for their funding and support of this project.
