It would have been in everyone's interests to sort out this matter. I accept that funding methods have changed and that there has been big investment in schools, but the Executive must surely recognise that this is the time to get this issue sorted out.

We are all too familiar with such a situation in Scotland; people are already paying higher taxes to fund the health service, yet waiting lists and waiting times are longer, there are shortages of doctors and nurses, there are more hospital-acquired infections and there are still mixed-sex wards in our hospitals.
