I support Michael McMahon's amendments because he has tried to suggest some criteria. The minister referred to a code for which there is provision under section 115 of the 1991 act, but that code is for guidance only.

This census data does identify allpatients with an Availability Status Code and it is therefore possible to reporton the number of patients with a guarantee and an Availability Status Code waitingover specified periods on that census date.As I announced in December 2004,the Availability Status Code system is being abolished and from the end of 2007we will have a clearer, more transparent system that is fairer to patients.
