That means that there should be a change to the code of conduct. I am not sure that we should have a debate in the chamber on that alone, as that would mean taking parliamentary time to make one change to the code.

We want the commissioner to consult Scottish ministers and the Parliament when drawing up the code. Secondly, the commissioner will oversee compliance with the code by ministers.
Health Boards, and other NHSScotland organisations, are aware of their responsibilities under the Code, one of which is to publish the name of the individual in their organisation who has responsibility for the operation of the Code.
I have one brief point of clarification in relation to the code of construction practice. I understand that the code will be incorporated into the contracts between the promoter and the contractor so that there will be an ultimate means of enforcement through that route.
The faculty's handling of complaints allows no consumer redress, so it is based entirely on an internal disciplinary code. The faculty can fine an advocate who transgresses the code.
