The standards commissioner concludes that Mrs Gillon is in breach of paragraph 2.4 of the code but that there has not been a breach of paragraph 9.1.1 of the code.
I think that the Executive said that the interim code would be introduced with the act, but the question is whether the interim code might become a permanent code de facto, because a permanent code is never created.
There will be public consultation on draft codes after the bill becomes law. The codes will also be laid before the Parliament and will be revised, if need be, in the light of practical experience and comments made about how they should operate in practice.
