To ask the Scottish Executive whether options necessitating further investment have been considered in the event of failure of the odour improvement plan at the Seafield Wastewater Treatment Works. The Code of Practice requires Scottish Water to adopt the Best Practicable Means for controlling malodour from Waste Water Treatment Works.
However, as I have said, the scale of fixed-cost overheads to business and what they are in receipt of right now varies to a great extent, so how much money will be needed depends on how long we will be in this position.
Prior to December, the £100 million winter fund was created, but that will clearly not have taken into consideration the measures that we are discussing now. Will pupils who are in receipt of free school meals have any additional funding over the current period to assist them with eating?
