The Review Group on the Retention of Organs at Post Mortem which I have set up is chaired by Professor McLean who holds the Chair of Law and Ethics in Medicine at Glasgow and is Director of the Institute of Law and Medicine.The members have been appointed by Professor McLean with a view to providing the necessary range of expertise in the fields of ethics, law, patients' rights and medicine to allow the review group to discharge the first part of its remit.All of the group members have been asked to serve in a personal capacity, and the group as a whole is independent of the Scottish Executive and the medical profession.Fuller biographical details of the members of the group are available in the Parliament's Reference Centre and on the group's website at http://www.show.scot.nhs.uk/scotorgrev.
