I fully support her call for the Scottish Executive to"investigate the provision of stable funding".Such an important function, which, as I said, is better described as an emergency service, should not be funded on the whim of people's generosity.
It seems that the two ladies whom Margaret Jamieson spoke about set an example of such leadership in ensuring that both organisations were willing to commit not only to working together but to bidding to the Executive for extra funding to enable the project to get off the ground.
For example, does the Executive have an equal opportunities fund that would enable SEPA to do a good job of communicating with people whose first language is not English?
Perhaps suggestions could go to the clerk in the meantime. I have one detailed point on funding for specialised support. The funding may be totally different depending on whether the pupils want a bit of extra support or a great deal of it.
