It is not so impressive to note that, in 2002-03, Airdrie CAB dealt with debt cases totalling just under £3 million. Although Mary Scanlon makes a good point about debt not just affecting deprived communities, it certainly affects them more than it affects more affluent communities, so it is right that money be targeted at our deprived communities.
