The Clinical Resources and Audit Group is at present funding an audit of the nutrition of elderly people and nutritional aspects of their care both in NHS and non-NHS settings.
I urge the committee to impress on the Scottish Executive the need for urgent remedial action and for further additional funding for Fife and throughout Scotland.
I would be pleased to receive guidance from committee members as to what they think we ought to do about them.We have received a letter from Diana Smith from the Isle of Lewis befriending scheme. It expresses dismay that a fund for befriending projects that was announced by the chancellor will not extend to Scotland and calls on the committee to help to establish a befriending fund in Scotland.
