Current process
Section 17(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 was amended by the Scottish Elections (Reform) Act 2020. It now states that upon receipt of a report on a review of local authority electoral areas and arrangements from Boundaries Scotland, the Scottish Government must lay the report on the review in the Scottish Parliament.
