Standards two and four highlight the importance of rapid access to specialist advice for healthcare professionals, including urgent advice available at any time of day or night.
The Scottish Government will also commission another survey later this year, similar in scope to the rapid review previously distributed. This will serve as a mechanism for monitoring compliance with all Health Boards.
There are also some concerns about the capacity within the EV chargepoint industry to install best-in-class chargepoints, which limits the ability to quickly expand the number of charging points available in non-residential car parks, the cost of rapid chargers and with Local Network Power Capacity.
The minister has stated her intention to request “annual updates from health boards” to ensure their continued compliance with the requirements that were set out in the rapid review. The petitioner has provided two written submissions to the committee.
In response, the minister has committed to conducting a rapid review of each health board to ascertain the extent of the issues across Scotland, which is positive.

The Committee's previous consideration of the made affirmative procedure
Given the rapid increase in the use of the made affirmative procedure since March 2020, the Committee agreed at its meeting on 9 November 2021 to hold a short and focused inquiry into the use of the made affirmative procedure during the coronavirus pandemic ("the inquiry").
This will be supplemented by a further £8m support for Rapid Rehousing Transition Plans in 2023-24. 1 The Scottish Government provided an additional £5 million to local authorities for rapid rehousing transition plans in December 2020 as part of its Winter Plan for Social Protection.
