Local Authorities (Provisional Revenue Allocations) To ask the Scottish Government what its provisional revenue allocation is for local authorities for 2024-25. (S6O-02966) Despite a real-terms reduction in the Scottish Government’s block grant, the Scottish Government has provided local government with record revenue funding in 2024-25, and the local government settlement’s share of the discretionary Scottish budget has also increased.

The Scottish Government has provided specific funding to NHS Boards for the development of a thrombectomy service to treat ischaemic stroke: £6.6 million in 2021-22; £7.2 million in 2022-23; £10.1 million in 2023-24 and £12.1 million in 2024-25. 2025-26 thrombectomy funding allocations will exceed the funding provided in 2024-25.In addition, the Scottish Government has provided funding to support the delivery of the Stroke Improvement Plan and wider stroke improvement work: £182,980 in 2021-22; £174,489 in 2022-23; £185,507 in 2023-24 and £175,150 in 2024-25.While we know thrombectomy procedures are not currently available overnight, stroke care is available and we expect NHS Boards to provide safe, effective and person-centred care for those who have experienced a stroke, at all times.

To ask the Scottish Government when it will publish the final report on the Women’s Health Plan 2021-2024. Today we published the Women’s Health Plan 2021 – 2024 Final Report on the Scottish Government website to mark the progress achieved in the three years since the publication of Scotland’s first Women’s Health Plan.This final report sets out the progress made against the 66 short, medium and long term actions to improve health information, services and outcomes for women and girls in Scotland.Key achievements include the appointment and work of the first Women’s Health Champion Professor Anna Glasier, development of a women’s health information platform on NHS Inform and this Parliament passing The Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) (Scotland) Act 2024.Alongside this report, a Women’s Health Plan: Review of the Data Landscape has been published setting out the routinely published data on women’s health currently available and highlighting the key data gaps.

Social Security Scotland routinely publishes information on Scottish Child Payment applications, payments and the number of children actively in receipt of the payment by local authority area.As of 30 June 2024, the number of children aged 0-15 years actively benefitting from Scottish Child Payment in each local authority area relevant to the West Scotland parliamentary region were as follows:Argyll and Bute – 4,100;East Dunbartonshire – 3,770;East Renfrewshire – 3,575;Inverclyde – 5,375;North Ayrshire – 10,395;Renfrewshire – 10,545;West Dunbartonshire – 7,165.This information along with other local authority areas can be found in the latest Scottish Child Payment Official Statistics publication:https://www.socialsecurity.gov.scot/publications/statistics.The next edition of the Scottish Child Payment publication which will cover the period to the end of September 2024, is due to be published on 26 November 2024.
