I do not think that it would be right for the Executive to determine all decisions about funding for local projects. Taking that approach to its logical conclusion, we would not stop at funding family mediation; we would fund every local voluntary project through the Executive, which clearly would not work.On the other hand, it is right that the Executive should look to support the national bodies that help to develop, promote and establish the wide variety of services that exist across the country.
