A biometric data bill will provide for a code of practice for acquiring, using, retaining and disposing of data including fingerprints and DNA samples.
Are you expecting interim reporting or something else? The code of audit practice under which the auditors who I appoint do their work requires them, as you would expect, to do the straightforward financial statements review, but it also picks up four aspects of the wider public audit model that all auditors are required to look at.
I certainly have confidence in the code of conduct and how the system works, and I think that we would need to be very careful about putting a non-party system in place.
They are working hard to do that, but it is something that we have picked up on. Do we need to go beyond codes of conduct and provide training to board members on what it is like to be a non-executive member?
I do not know whether the Lord Advocate mentioned it today, but there is a prosecution code that prosecutors work to, and no case should be taken without sufficient evidence.
I would like to find out what factual and statistical evidence the Government has that the voluntary code has been adhered to. Also, what is the experience of customers?

The recording of aggravators has improved with time therefore caution is needed when comparing changes over time. 2005-06 is the first year where it has been considered that the use and recording of domestic abuse aggravator codes from the Scottish Government Court Proceedings Database has been of sufficient coverage to be used.
In March 2010, we reminded NHS boards of the need to comply with the existing Code of Practice on the use of medical locums, which includes provisions relating to pre-employment checks.
