It is unusual for me to have a dispute with Mary Scanlon, but she reflects an attitude that is prevalent in the Parliament and on the Labour and Conservative benches in particular, which is that we should just stay in the devolution kennel and hope that a bone will be thrown to us from on high at Westminster.

I was going to produce a full appendix on the situation of the Marie Curie unit in the ACAD. The staff felt that they had been consulted reasonably on the MSU but not on the ACAD, and feel excluded from that process.I am sorry that the report's conclusions are fairly lengthy, but it is important that we get them right; therefore, we need to discuss them.
