Carer’s Assistance (Miscellaneous and Consequential Amendments, Revocation, Transitional and Saving Provisions) (Scotland) Regulations 2025 [draft]
On older carers, the Cabinet Secretary confirmed that although the idea of a “recognition payment” for those in receipt of the state pension had been explored, work on this had not been taken forward as the Scottish Government's focus remains on implementing the current improvements.

Holyrood Committee calls for urgent action to improve access to and delivery of healthcare services in remote and rural areas
The Committee highlights significant variations in policy on reimbursement of patient travel costs, depending where an individual lives and whether or not they are in receipt of benefits. It calls for a fairer and more consistent policy for reimbursement of travel and accommodation costs to be developed.

Post-legislative scrutiny of the Social Care (Self-directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013: Phase 1 - What the Committee heard
One workstream recommended improved transparency for individuals in receipt of social care. Participants of that workstream argued that any individual, at any given time, should be able to track their journey through the process and be able to understand what has been agreed to and if their preferences have not been agreed to, why this is.
