To ask the Scottish Executive whether it is confident in the accuracy of its earlier projections of the demand for new homes in the Scottish Borders and whether these projections are reflected in the strategic development plans proposed by the City of Edinburgh, Midlothian and Scottish Borders councils and approved by ministers.

It is Scottish Government policy that every public body should aim to have at least one contract with a supported factory or business. We are currently developing a research project which will commence in September 2009 to identify barriers to the use of reserved contracts.
