We have received no apologies for the meeting.The first item of business is to declare interests that are relevant to the committee’s remit, in accordance with section 3 of the code of conduct for members of the Scottish Parliament.
As you know, the committee previously agreed to consider in private items on the Interpretation and Legislative Reform (Scotland) Bill and on section 2 of the code of conduct for members of the Scottish Parliament.
Item 2 will be discussion of our approach, and of draft guidance, in relation to our review of section 2 of the "Code of Conduct for Members of the Scottish Parliament".
Our information is that a policy on what happens to medical records now applies. A code of practice on NHS records management, which was issued in July 2008, covers the retention and disposal of patient records and was agreed with the National Archives of Scotland.

The Scottish Land Commission has really good codes of practice and a lot of guidance is being developed in other areas to support responsible land management and land use.
We have arrived at a sensible compromise with a code of practice whereby retailers—particularly online retailers—that make it clear up front that they will deliver through the Royal Mail and make clear the delivery charges get a kitemark or seal of approval.

In March 2008, we issued Chief Executive Letter (CEL) 11 (2008) to NHS Scotland. This provided a revised code of practice for Part 5 of the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000.
