The Welfare of Dogs (Scotland) Bill - Background to the Bill

A new draft proposal for the Bill was lodged in February 2022. The original proposal pre-dated the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (Scotland) Regulations 2021 (discussed further in a later section of this briefing), which made provision for some of the changes in the Member's original proposal.
